By accessing or using lamu.life and any related websites, mobile apps, software, materials, offline experiences, activities, meetups, or events facilitated by us (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be 18 years or older and capable of entering into a binding contract. The Service is not available to Users previously removed or banned. You represent that all registration information is accurate and up to date. See our Child Safety page for our commitment to protecting minors.

You may need an account ("Account"). Keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your Account. Notify support@lamu.life of any suspected unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate your Account at any time, with or without notice, including for violations of these Terms or conduct we deem harmful.

lamu.life is an AI-assisted matchmaker, facilitator, and relationship consulting service that may introduce Users and recommend online/offline interactions. We do not guarantee matches, meetings, friendships, or relationship outcomes. You are solely responsible for your interactions with others, online and offline.

• ◆Certain features require a registration fee to access the candidate pool.
• ◆Subscription is required for active introductions and certain premium features.
• ◆We may offer VIP / concierge tiers and event deposits (e.g., no-show fees).
• ◆Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
• ◆Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled via in-product controls or by contacting billing@lamu.life before the next billing period.
• ◆We may change pricing or features with notice effective in subsequent periods.
• ◆Free trials, if any, convert to paid unless canceled before the trial ends.
• ◆You authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method for the subscription term. You are responsible for taxes and keeping payment details current.
• ◆If we suspend/terminate your Account for cause, no refunds or credits will be issued.

By providing phone/email, you consent to receiving transactional calls/SMS/emails about your Account, Service changes, security, matches, and activities (message/data rates may apply). You may opt out of non-transactional messages at any time (reply "STOP" for SMS or use email unsubscribe). Transactional communications are necessary for Service delivery.

lamu.life Referral Alerts (SMS program)

This section is the rulebook for referral invitation text messages sent by lamu.life.

Program description: When a current user refers someone to lamu.life and provides that person's mobile number, we send a one-time SMS invitation on behalf of the referrer. By using lamu.life after receiving such a message, or by otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies. For referral invitations, you will receive one SMS for each referral submission that includes your number.

Rates: Message and data rates may apply.

Support: For help, contact us at support@lamu.life.

Opt-out: You can cancel referral invitation SMS at any time by replying STOP to the number that sent the message.

You agree to:

• ◆comply with these Terms and any guidelines we publish;
• ◆not impersonate others, harass, stalk, defraud, discriminate, or engage in unlawful conduct;
• ◆not upload illegal, infringing, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, exploitative, or violent content;
• ◆not scrape, mine, bulk collect, reverse engineer, or bypass access controls;
• ◆not use the Service to build competitors, benchmark us, or for commercial solicitation;
• ◆honor venue rules and laws at any offline activity or event;
• ◆not share anyone's private or personal information without consent;
• ◆not post minors' images or content; the Service is strictly 18+.

We may remove content or suspend/terminate Accounts to protect Users or comply with laws.

"User Content" means content you submit (text, images, audio/video, survey answers, feedback, profiles, preferences). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant lamu.life a worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, modify, publish, translate, create derivative works, distribute, and display such content solely for: (A) operating, improving, and promoting the Service; (B) enabling introductions, activities, events, safety, and community operations; and (C) complying with law and enforcing Terms.

If you attend a lamu.life-facilitated activity or event, you consent to our recording and reasonable use of your name, likeness, and voice captured in/around the event for safety, moderation, incident response, and Service promotion (to the extent permitted by law).

You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights and consents for your User Content, and that it does not infringe or violate any person's rights or laws.

You understand that meeting people involves risks. You assume all risks related to interactions with others and any travel, venues, activities, or events. lamu.life does not conduct criminal background checks and does not guarantee safety. Follow common-sense precautions.

Where required, events may require a non-refundable deposit; deposits may be returned or forfeited under attendance rules we publish (e.g., verified two-party show-ups). We may facilitate scheduling through calendar coordination with your permission.

For trust and safety, we may request identity or liveness verification (e.g., selfie liveness, document checks). Refusal may limit or block access. See Privacy Policy for processing details.

The Service (including software, algorithms, designs, text, graphics, logos, trademarks) is owned by lamu.life and protected by law. Except for limited rights to access and use the Service per these Terms, no rights are granted. Do not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works.

The Service may reference third-party websites, tools, payment processors, mapping, messaging, analytics, or venues. We do not control or endorse third-party services and are not responsible for their acts, omissions, content, or availability. Your use is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.

lamu.life respects intellectual property. If you believe content infringes your rights, send a notice containing the elements required by applicable law to:

We may terminate repeat infringers at our discretion.

We may collect and generate diagnostic/technical/usage data to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Service. We own such Usage Data and may use and share aggregated or de-identified insights.

If you provide Feedback, you grant lamu.life a perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use it for any purpose without obligation to you.

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." We disclaim all warranties (express, implied, statutory), including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant matchmaking accuracy, availability, error-free operation, or safety of interactions or venues.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, lamu.life and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, goodwill, emotional distress, or property damage). Our aggregate liability for all claims shall not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid to lamu.life in the six (6) months preceding the claim; or (b) USD 1,000.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limits; where prohibited, they apply to the fullest extent permitted.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless lamu.life from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of your: (a) use of the Service; (b) User Content; (c) violation of these Terms or law; or (d) interactions with other Users.

The app may be distributed via third-party app stores. You are responsible for data charges and device compatibility. App updates may install automatically and these Terms apply to updates.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflicts of law, except that the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of Section 20.

• ◆Informal Resolution. Before filing a claim, you agree to email legal@lamu.life with a description and supporting documents and attempt to resolve it informally within 60 days.
• ◆Binding Arbitration. Except for small-claims court or injunctive relief for IP or data security, any dispute will be resolved by confidential, final, and binding arbitration. The arbitration will occur in the U.S. county of your residence or King County, Washington, unless we agree otherwise.
• ◆Class/Jury Waiver. You and lamu.life waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action.
• ◆Opt-Out. New Users may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing legal@lamu.life with "Arbitration Opt-Out," your name, and the email/phone associated with your Account.
• ◆If any part of this Section is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.

We may modify or discontinue any part of the Service, impose limits, or suspend/terminate Accounts at any time with or without notice. Upon termination, Sections that by their nature should survive do survive.

These Terms are the entire agreement. If a provision is invalid, the rest remain enforceable. No waiver is a continuing waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign without restriction.
